3ICE OPEN DIVISION
TOURNAM3NT INFORMATION
GAM3 RULES & PROTOCOLS
3ICE OPEN is built around speed, skill, and continuous action. All games are played in a fast-paced 3-on-3 format designed to eliminate stoppages, discourage time-wasting, and showcase creativity and competitiveness.

Games consist of two short halves with a running clock, ensuring constant flow and high tempo. Traditional power plays and overtime periods are replaced with immediate penalty shots and shootouts, keeping the focus on decisive moments and player skill.

Goaltenders may play the puck anywhere on the ice, and play continues when the puck deflects off the netting and returns to the ice. Rules such as intentional icing penalties and offensive-zone turnover enforcement are in place to maintain pressure, pace, and attacking play at all times.

Roster and eligibility standards are enforced to ensure fair competition and alignment with the division's amateur and collegiate spirit, while protecting the integrity of play across regional tournaments and championship advancement.

The complete and official rule set, including game play, roster requirements, and eligibility standards, is published in advance of each event and enforced by tournament administration.
ROSTERS & 3LIGIBILITY
The 3ICE Open Division roster and eligibility standards are designed to ensure fair competition, consistent enforcement, and alignment with the fast-paced, high-skill identity of 3ICE hockey.

All teams must adhere to clearly defined roster limits, submission deadlines, and player eligibility requirements. Participation is limited to amateur, junior, and collegiate players who meet age and professional-play eligibility criteria. Strict restrictions apply to players with recent professional experience in top domestic leagues worldwide.

Rosters are locked before competition and closely monitored throughout pool play, playoffs, and championship advancement. Tournament administration retains final authority over all eligibility determinations, with penalties for violations to protect competitive integrity.

Complete roster rules, professional eligibility standards, and enforcement policies are detailed below and will be finalized and published in advance of each regional tournament registration deadline.

Team rosters, bench staff credentials, uniforms, and branding are regulated to support safe, organized, and broadcast-ready competition. Pre-event communication, on-site check-in, and game-day logistics are managed through centralized systems to keep the focus on performance rather than administration. Rosters are finalized prior to competition and monitored throughout pool play and playoffs, with tournament administration retaining final authority over operational and
compliance matters.

Complete team entry policies, scheduling formats, operational procedures, and enforcement guidelines will be finalized and published in advance of each regional tournament registration deadline.
